PLATFORM
These are the things that YOU have told me are important to OUR community and I will make my priorities as your Ward 6 representative on Council:
Community Safety
Reduce speeding, noise, and township by-law violations with a greater policing presence and enforcement. Continue the improvement and maintenance of area roads including snow removal.
Fiscal Responsibility
Provide greater openness and fairness in sharing the benefits of township tax revenues. Improve and provide proper maintenance and greater access to recreational facilities for Moonstone, Vasey and Carley residents. Encourage and support the development of local businesses to provide employment opportunities. Minimize tax increases.
Engage & Communicate
with Residents
Hold town hall meetings with community residents to provide updates, and discuss township policy and planning changes which may affect them. Re-establish Township Advisory Committees and encourage residents to participate. Seriously consider and respect their opinions and advice.
Protect our
Agricultural Industry
Farming is the backbone of this township. Support farm families and their communities and their operations. Stop the rezoning of good farmland for unnecessary developments.
Protect & Preserve
our Natural Resources
Create better protection for the Oro Moraine as the principal source of drinking water for 90% of township residents. Prevent the Coldwater River from becoming contaminated with treated sewage water from the proposed Craighurst, Horseshoe Valley, and other future development proposals. Create and enforce a Township Tree Cutting By-law to prevent the clearing of forested areas to accommodate developments.
